As long as they can send their tithes using PayPal.

There are actually churches that do that.
I “attended” an online service this past Sunday evening, complete with a communion service…

Where have you been? Some do. My husband participates in a Canadian church via internet almost every Sunday.

this is an extremely interesting idea but not b/c of the gas waste issue but rather b/c of persecution.
Is there an online church or not yet?

Hmm well faith alone saves, if you can’t make it worship at home. the Church is not the building. But I do hope you go to church, for our works prove our faith if u dont want to go to church for it inconveniences you then how faithful in christ are you?

Our Father’s Page- Wait are you saying we by our way into heaven. God gave us a “free gift.”

Romans 5:15 “But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.”

Jesus said, “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.”

It is also written that, “man looks on the outward appearance, but God judges the heart.”

Obviously if a person has no other way to connect, ie., bedbound, housebound or in a third world country, communist regime or otherwise, this may be their only way and again God judges the heart.

However, if you think it is “an awful alot of gasoline wasted needlessly each week on Church”, I would say there may be something in your heart that needs some searching out as to why you feel gathering together with the brethren in the house of the Lord is a waste of anything, much less gas.

You might want to consider it an investment, rather than an expenditure.

    —-Added—–

JD of course not. I’m not even sure how you derived such a ridiculous notion from what I said. Out of the abundance of the heart…….read what I said in context and in the context of the question and words in the question. I’m sure you’ll figure it out. Jesus said, “which man who goes about building a building doesn’t first count the cost?” Was Jesus implying that we buy our way in heaven? Of course not.

    No, that’s not real worship.
